If we haven't met, here's a little bit about me. I'm a software engineer based in Central Oregon — on the transition between the high desert and the Cascade mountains. I mainly do full stack development, but I also have some professional experience in cloud infra and DevOps work.
I'm a lifelong autodidact — right now I mostly apply that to tech-relevant topics (computer science, LLMs, etc.), but I spend my free time on other domains as well. I enjoy effortful study and deliberate practice, and it's a happy side effect that such things contribute to my life and career. I find the pursuit of mastery to be one of the most fulfilling activities in life.
I put together this site mainly to host my writing. Though the corpus is small, I intend to begin writing more regularly. Most of what I post here is concerned with tech and productivity. I hope that in the midst of the musings, the reader may find something useful.
I am a full stack engineer on Planning Center's Trust & Safety team. Planning Center is an amazing company—in our mission, in the people who work here, in the people we serve, and in our playful culture of building technology for good. I love working here, so if you're interested in learning more about the company, I'd love to connect and tell you more about it.
